The oldest architectural monument of the village of Bugyi is this U-shaped Baroque manor house standing at the crossing of three roads, which was built in the 1730s by János Beleznay, a one-time general of Maria Theresa. This was Beleznay's first residence. On 12 September 1773 Miklós Beleznay, son of János Beleznay and a confidant of the queen, held a national Reformed conference in the Beleznay Mansion at Bugyi with the aim of creating a chief consistory, whose lay president became himself and whose secretary became the writer György Bessenyei. Miklós Beleznay and his wife, Anna Mária Podmaniczky, were among the great patrons of the age. He supported the building of the college of Sárospatak, in whose thanksgiving delegation the student Ferenc Kazinczy also took part. Both writers received a memorial plaque on the wall of the mansion.

After the Second World War it housed rented flats, a mill, and finally an agricultural cooperative. During this time the coat of arms, statues and ornaments of the attic wall were knocked off. On the courtyard façades the basket-arched arcades once resting on pillars were walled up and damaged. In 2002 the roof structure of the building was completed from grant funding.
