Bílina Castle

Bílina Castle (Schloss Bilin) is a Baroque castle in the town of Bílina in the Ústí nad Labem Region, Czech Republic.

Originally Bílina had been the early medieval administrative centre of the region since the 10th century. In the 13th century a High Medieval castle was built near the original hill fort on the site of the present castle. In 1502 Děpold of Lobkowicz bought the castle.

Wenzel Ferdinand of Lobkowicz had the complex rebuilt between 1675 and 1682 into a stately Baroque castle to designs by Giovanni Pietro Tencalla and Antonio della Porta. Further rebuilding took place in the 19th century.

The castle belonged to the Lobkowicz family until 1945, after which it was confiscated and returned again after 1989.
