The Castle of Tornos is situated on a hill, at 1109 m above sea level, in the municipality of Tornos, province of Teruel, from which it overlooks the Campo de Bello, the Gallocanta lagoon and the border with Castile. It was of great importance for the defence of the Aragonese frontier because of its border position, as it stood in the first line of the defensive system of the community of villages of Daroca.
