Château de Pizay
🇫🇷 France · 14th century
The Château de Pizay is a former fortified house, founded at the end of the 14th century, which stands beside a Renaissance dwelling in the commune of Belleville-en-Beaujolais, in the delegated commune of Saint-Jean-d'Ardières, in the north-east of the Rhône department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The castle, in the Beaujolais, is among the oldest fiefs in the region. It has been partially listed as a historic monument by an order of 5 September 1972; only the façades and roofs of the keep, the round tower and the Henri III wing, together with the keep's staircase, are listed.
