The Citadel of Hai Duong, also called Thành Đông, is an old citadel of the Nguyễn dynasty. The citadel was built of earth in 1804 and used as the seat of the administrative apparatus of the Hải Dương garrison town. The citadel was largely destroyed by the French colonialists in 1889. However, some remains of this citadel can still be seen in Thành Đông ward, Hải Phòng city.
