Elsloo Castle
🇳🇱 Netherlands
Elsloo Castle is a castle in the Dutch province of Limburg in the south of the village of Elsloo, a part of the municipality of Stein. It lies in an extensive park which borders directly on the Juliana Canal, a side canal of the Meuse. The castle was part of the historic village of Elsloo.
In its present condition the complex consists of a former brewery with an adjoining watermill. Adjoining this is a farm with barns and stables. The historic complex has survived apart from the south wing. This was converted into a noble residence in the 17th century but was not rebuilt after several fires. The historic castle consists of a rectangular building in which the watermill is housed. The tower was added to the building in a later building phase.
