It consists of the Old Palace, built between the 14th and 16th centuries, and the New Palace, built at the end of the 16th century. Both are today owned by the German Foundation for Monument Protection. Since 1957 Höchst Palace has annually been the centrepiece of the Höchst Palace Festival.
