Keverberg Castle
🇳🇱 Netherlands
Castle (De) Keverberg was once the residence of the counts of Kessel and was rebuilt in 2015 from a consolidated ruin of a motte castle located in the heart of the North Limburg village of Kessel on the Meuse, upstream to the south of Venlo. It stands on a hill. The difference in height between the castle and the river can be bridged via stairs and terraces.
The name Keverberg comes from the De Keverberg d'Aldenghoor family, owners of the castle from 1779 until the beginning of the twentieth century. The castle is also known by the name 'Kasteel Kessel'.
