Mithymna Castle, the castle or fortress of Molyvos (or of Mithymna), is located in the town of Molyvos (ancient Mithymna), in the north of Lesbos, and is the second largest castle on the island. It was built - upon the ancient Greek and the Byzantine acropolis - by the Gattilusi lords of Lesbos in the 14th century, and afterwards the Ottomans made repairs and additions.
