Mola Castle is situated on a small hill 360 m above sea level and 3 km from the town of Novelda (province of Alicante, Valencian Community, Spain), in a northwesterly direction. From this hill it commands views over the middle valley of the Vinalopó and forms part of the network of castles and towers that during the Middle Ages constituted an important system of control and defence of Andalusi territory against the Christian kingdoms of Castile and Aragon.
