Nafpaktos castle is a fortification in Nafpaktos, in the prefecture of Aetolia-Acarnania. Nafpaktos had already been fortified in the 5th century BC and the fortifications were rebuilt in Byzantine and post-Byzantine times. The castle is built on a hillside and consists of five fortified enclosures which survive up to the level of the battlements. At its highest point lies the acropolis, while at its lowest it encloses the harbour of Nafpaktos.
