Fort Van der Wijck is a Dutch East Indies defensive fort built around 1820, or the early 19th century. The fort is located in the town of Gombong, about 17.35 km west of the capital of Kebumen Regency, Central Java, 8.72 km west of the city of Karanganyar, or 96.92 km from Yogyakarta.
The fort's name is taken from Van der Wijck, who was probably the commander at the time. The fort's name is displayed on the right-hand door.
The fort is sometimes associated with the name of Frans David Cochius (1787–1876), a general who served in the western Bagelen region and whose name is likewise commemorated in the name of Fort Generaal Cochius. This fort is the only octagonal fort in Indonesia.
