Witostowice Castle
🇵🇱 Poland · 14th century
Witostowice Castle (Polish: Zamek w Witostowicach) is a castle in Witostowice (Schönjohnsdorf) in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in Poland.
In the Middle Ages a moated castle, attested in 1361, was built on the site. This was developed in the 16th century into a fortified castle, presumably under the von Zierotin family. The master builder was Giovanni Bernardo. In the process, projecting bastions were laid out which can still be recognised today.
The round tower in the south-western corner and the semicircular tower at the north-western corner of the castle are among the oldest surviving parts of the complex.
