Ping Men, formerly named Wu Men, is located in the old city of Suzhou, Jiangsu province, China, and is one of the city gates of Suzhou prefectural city.
The name Ping Men can be traced back to the period of the ancient state of Wu. In former times it was closed up for a long period. In 1917, for the convenience of traffic, Ping Men was reopened. Ping Men was demolished in 1958. In 2011 the rebuilding of Ping Men began; in September 2012 Ping Men was completed. Ping Men originally had no gate tower; a gate tower was added when it was rebuilt.
