Al-Mua'azam Fort is a historic castle counted among the remains of the later Islamic eras. It lies south-east of the city of Tabuk in the Al-Mu'azzam centre; it was founded in the year 1031 AH, corresponding to 1622 AD, in the reign of the Ottoman sultan Osman II, and is one of the stations of the Levantine route. It is considered one of the largest Ottoman castles that were used to watch over and protect the pilgrims, and it includes the Al-Mu'azzam reservoir and the railway station; on the façade of this castle there are four foundation inscriptions recording its construction.
