The castle of Ademuz is located in the municipality of Ademuz, comarca of Rincón de Ademuz, province of Valencia (Valencian Community, Spain).
This castle was erected on the summit of the hill of Los Zafranes, on whose slope the town stands.
Although its origins are unknown, from the remains found in its surroundings it could be considered to have its beginnings in the Roman period. The scant vestiges that survive of the castle and the fortress are in a complete state of ruin.
It has enjoyed legal protection since 1929. It is also known as the «castle of Santa Bárbara».
