Castillo de Madrona
🇪🇸 Spain · 12th century
Castillo de Madrona is a medieval castle, now in ruins, standing on a hill in the settlement of Madrona, in the municipality of Pinell in the comarca of the Solsonés (Lérida).
Situated on the summit (550 metres in altitude) of the last hill of the western spur of the Sierra de Madrona, it is so ruined that it is difficult to make out the shape of its plan, though it can still be established that it was built next to the Romanesque church of San Pedro de Madrona.
On 22 April 1949 the ensemble of the castle remains and the Romanesque church were declared a Historic-Artistic Monument.
