Castroverde Castle is a castle located in the municipality of Castroverde, in the province of Lugo, Galicia. The old 14th-century fortress belonged to Álvaro Pérez Osorio, Duke of Aguiar and lord of the county of Villalobos, by grant of Henry II. A century later Sancho Sánchez de Ulloa, Count of Monterrey, seized the castle, which on his death was inherited by Isabel de Castro, Sancho's cousin. In the 16th century, Lope Osorio de Moscoso, of the house of Altamira, bought the castle, the town and the lands. It is currently private property.
