Firka Fortress is a Venetian fortress located on the north-western side of the old harbour of Chania, in Crete. It was built by the Venetians in the middle of the 16th century with the aim of defending the entrance to the harbour. Today it houses the Maritime Museum of Crete and is one of the most important monuments of the city.
