The Royal Fort of San Carlos — also known as the Fuerte de San Carlos — is a fortification located on the esplanade of Punta de Tecque or Tique north-west of the city of Ancud, whose construction dates approximately to 1767 or 1768. The setting up of this infrastructure would allow the formation of a village of the same name that would later be Ancud.
