The Neue Residenz is a multi-winged listed building on the Domplatz in Bamberg, Upper Franconia. From 1604 it was the episcopal residence of the prince-bishops of Bamberg, taking over that role from the Alte Hofhaltung on the other side of the square. Today the sandstone complex houses the State Library and the State Gallery of Bamberg. From the rose garden of the Neue Residenz there is a view of St Michael's Church and the roofs of the burghers' town.
