The fort of Ain Umm el-Dabadib, or Umm el-Dabadib, is a Roman fort in the New Valley, more than 65 km north of Kharga. The fort was built of mud brick below an escarpment, near a large residential settlement with tombs carved into the mountainside, which includes an ancient irrigation system and trees and is surrounded by a plateau to the north; the monument rises two hundred metres above the surface of the desert, and pottery vessels are scattered around it.
