The Xiangcheng city wall is the most completely preserved county town wall within Henan province. In August 1998 it was listed as a cultural relic protection unit of Xiangcheng county; in September 2000 it was listed as a cultural relic protection unit of Henan province; and in May 2013 it was announced as one of the seventh batch of Major Historical and Cultural Sites Protected at the National Level.
