Description
The Delizia del Verginese is one of the Este delights, a monumental residence that the House of Este had built near Portomaggiore, in what would become the hamlet of Gambulaga. It probably takes its name from the "Verzenese" or Urzenese canal that watered the surrounding countryside, and which still survives as the eponymous consortium canal.
