Yi'an Fortress is located in Chengnei village, Huxi She Ethnic Township, Zhangpu county, Fujian province, People's Republic of China, commonly known as Huxibao, about 1 kilometre from Zhongjiabao; in 2001 it was listed among the fifth batch of Major Historical and Cultural Sites Protected at the National Level.
Yi'anbao was built by Huang Xingzhen, the "strategist of the pacification of Taiwan" and a high provincial official, in the twenty-sixth year of the Kangxi era of the Qing (1687). It is roughly rectangular, the city wall having a circumference of 1,200 metres, with four city gates and two corner towers, of which the east, west and south gates have gate towers.
